Student Achievement Awards

N orthbrook College held its annual Special Achievement Awards ceremony at the Northbrook Theatre. The awards mark the achievements of students who have succeeded despite special or personal difficulties and gives staff the opportunity to nominate the students they feel deserve recognition for their hard work. This year there were almost 50 awards presented within three categories: 16 -18 Awardees, 19+ Awardees and Parent Learner Awardees.

Sarwar Abdul Hamid was one of the 16-18 winners. He has made great progress on his Aircraft Engineering course despite having to learn English as a second language.

Crispin Duke is deaf but, despite not being able to hear, he has been commended by his tutors on his engineering craft course.

Cheryl Jones was one of the ten parent learner winners. Cheryl, who studies Theatre Arts, has been a model student despite juggling a busy family life with three children.

All awardees were presented with a certificate and a WH Smith voucher by Paul Norman, Northbrook’s Director of Curriculum & Client Services.
