The Uniformed Services Department offers vocational diploma courses at NCFE Levels 1, 2 & 3, which offer direct progression to the Uniformed Services and higher education.
From September, all students who are enrolled on Uniformed Services at Northbrook will join our Combined Cadet Force (RN), an exciting and adventure activity focussed programme which will run alongside the Uniformed Services Course offering multiple additional qualification opportunities.
We are the first FE College to be chosen to work with the Royal Navy in the capacity of a Combined Cadet Force – Royal Naval contingent. During your time at Northbrook you will develop a wide range of skills which will be vital to whichever Uniformed Service career you choose – whether it is in the emergency services, military, customs or prison service.
As a cadet you will have the chance to take part in a vast range of activities such as learning to sail, tackling an assault course, scuba diving, mountaineering, mountain biking, rock climbing and much more. You will be issued with a uniform and will take part in regular parades, developing a sense of leadership, teamwork and work ethic within a Uniformed Service environment.
Within the Combined Cadet Force (RN) learners take ownership of their contingent and can earn promotion through the ranking structure.
year Level 3 students undergo rigorous training in their first year and go on to act as facilitators of Level 1,2 and first year level 3 students, learning vital leadership skills, personal responsibility and self-discipline.
