About this Course

A short course exploring creative and basic techniques using watercolour paints including wet into wet, line and wash and how to create the appearance of texture in your artwork. Suitable for all abilities including beginners.

 

Course Content

Basic techniques with watercolour paints including how to apply paint and mix colour, subjects include the natural world and landscape, techniques covered include line and wash and paint effects.

What you will achieve

By the end of the course you will be able to use watercolour paints at an introductory or intermediate level, show that you have experimented with the techniques demonstrated, produce at least 3 pieces of finished work. assess your progress with the activities at an introductory or intermediate level

Progression/Career Path

Other ACL arts courses that start in September 2018. If you have built a portfolio of artwork you could apply for the part-time or full-time BA Fine Arts course at Northbrook College..

Other Costs

Please bring drawing materials and basic set of watercolours, paper, brushes and palette. to the first session. For the course you will need – water-colour paints, A3 watercolour paper pad, waterproof pens, brushes, palette, notebook, folder for handouts.

The Tutor

Maggie has a Masters degree in Fine Art, a BA Honours degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She has won local and national art awards and works as an artist and designer in a variety of media.
