About this Course

A short course exploring different ways of working from the life model. Suitable for all abilities and for portfolio building

 

Course Content

Basic skills drawing with pencil, charcoal, inks and other media, how to measure for accurate drawing, tonal drawing, scale and composition, expressive drawing, developing a personal style.

What you will achieve

By the end of the course you will be able to show that you have developed and reinforced skills in drawing from observation, experiment with several different drawing media, produce at least 7 finished drawings, assess your progress with the activities at an introductory or intermediate level.

Progression/Career Path

Other ACL arts courses including Painting and Drawing and Life Drawing courses in 2018/19. If you have built a portfolio of artwork you could apply for the part-time or full-time BA Fine Arts course at Northbrook College.

Other Costs

Please bring drawing things to first session (pencil, charcoal, A1 cartridge paper) and masking tape. For the course you will need - drawing materials, paper. Materials list given in week 1 - if advice needed before buying.

Maggie has a Masters degree in Fine Art, a BA (Hons) degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She has won local and national art awards and works as an artist and designer in a variety of media.
