About this Course

A fun and hands-on workshop in linocut printing for both beginners and those with some experience of printmaking. Students will be guided through all the stages from design to printing.

Course Content

Drawing and cutting images on lino. Use of different cutting tools to create a range of textures and tones. Inking up and printing in black & white and colour Printing by hand and with the Britannia relief printing press. Printing onto different papers

What you will achieve

By the end of the course you will be able to produce a series of linocut print in black & white and colour on different paper.

Progression/Career Path

Try out other printmaking processes at our Saturday workshops or evening classes or use the work as part of a portfolio for applying to further education courses in Art & Design

Other Costs

Bring in reference material to work from e.g. A5 size photographs or drawings. Also bring an apron, scissors, pencil, and a glue stick. Lino blocks, inks and paper are provided. We recommend that you bring a packed lunch and hot/cold drinks. Vending machines for hot/cold drinks available but the canteen is closed.
