About this Course

Explore drawing with line, tone and colour, using a range of drawing media. This creative course is suitable for all abilities including complete beginners and is ideal for building a portfolio of artwork

 

Course Content

Basic drawing skills using line and tone, drawing techniques from traditional to contemporary, drawing from observation, introducing colour, drawing with pen and ink, building a portfolio of artwork, art history, artists who use drawing techniques.

What you will achieve

By the end of the course you will be able to show that you have practised several different drawing techniques, show that you can plan an image effectively regarding scale and composition, produce at least 5 pieces of finished work, assess your progress with the activities at an introductory or intermediate level.

Progression/Career Path

Other ACL arts courses that start in September 2019. If you have built a significant portfolio of artwork after attending several ACL arts courses you could apply for the part-time or full-time BA Fine Arts course at Northbrook College.

Other Costs

Please bring pencils, charcoal, eraser and paper to first session. During the course you will need: papers, masking tape and additional drawing media, e.g. conte pencils, pens. Materials list given in week 1.

The Tutor

Maggie has a Masters degree in Fine Art, a BA Honours degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She has won local and national art awards and works as an artist and designer in a variety of media.
