About this Course

Want to write more, improve your technique, or just want to get started? Then this workshop-based course aims to move your writing forward. Through group and individual work, we will explore various forms of creative writing.

 

Course Content

Generating ideas; characterisation; plotting; structure; dialogue; research; creating tension & pace; location/setting; themes, marketing your work.

What you will achieve

By the end of the course you will be able to :


If experienced - to have expanded/improved your body of work; to have further developed your skills in key areas of writing fiction.


If less experienced writers: to have started a body of work, to have identified and practised some of the key writing skills.

Progression/Career Path

Go on to further creative writing courses; media courses at various levels, appropriate to the individual.

What you need to bring

No extra costs. Please bring materials to write with in class: pen, paper or laptop computer / tablet.

SUE WALKER is a novelist published by Penguin. She has over 20 years’ experience as an investigative television journalist and has extensive experience of running courses and workshops as a Creative Writing Tutor.
