About this Course

The Level 1 Diploma in electrical installations is suitable for anyone who has achieved a grade D/4 in English and Maths. The course is 14 hours per week over a two or three day period. This course is for candidates who want to work as an electrician in the building services sector. This includes domestic, commercial or industrial sectors.

Course Content

Units include:


  • Health and safety in building services engineering
  • Principles of electrical science
  • Electrical installations technology
  • Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
  • Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering


English and Maths are part of the core programme of study. Students who have not achieved a A-C / 9-5 grade in English and Maths will be required to study the appropriate level as part of their main qualification. More information


Progression/Career Path

After 1 year at Level 1, you can achieve a City & Guilds 7202 Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation. This means you can apply for Level 2.


An entry test will be required for Electrical Installation Level 2

Rulers, protractors, A4 note paper, A4 ring folder and coloured pens. A Casio fx 83 calculator. Approx. £5
