To start on this course you need:
Three GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and maths
a relevant Level 1 qualification with at least 80% Merit profile, including English and Maths requirements, and an appropriate reference.
One week's work experience in childcare.
If you do not have the above qualifications, you may be able to start on the Level 1 course instead.
Additional Entry Criteria
All candidates must have a Disclosure and Baring Service Check (formally CRB). Two suitable references, one from current school tutor and the second from a childcare professional - ie work experience report. Some childcare experience is required.

Work placements are integral to the courses and close links with the
community ensure students have access to work placements that offer the opportunity to link classroom theory to workplace practice.
Learners enjoy the opportunity to gain ‘hands on’ experience.
Levels 2 and 3 aim to equip students for professional roles as qualified
and committed practitioners.
All classes are supported by the use of the College’s virtual learning
GCSEs in English and Maths are part of the core programme of study. Students who have not achieved grade A*-C or 9-4 in English or Maths will be required to study the appropriate level as part of their main qualification. More information
After 1 year at Level 2
you can achieve CACHE Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education & Care
This means you can either seek employment or, with satisfactory grades, tutor report and Level 2 Maths and English, you can apply for Level 3.
