Entry Requirements

To start on this course, you need:
At least four GCSEs at grade D or above (including English and Maths)
or a relevant Level 1 qualification with a Merit profile.

You will be asked to show relevant examples of your work at interview.

The Course

You will explore a range of media, including film, video & television, animation, digital & web media, photography, writing for print and broadcast media.

The programme is delivered primarily through workshops and project based activity, whilst being supported by research into historical and current media practice and investigations into the nature of media industries. In the second year of Level 3, students will begin to select areas of interest and will increasingly develop their own ideas and modes of working. Students can develop a portfolio or show-reel of their work to support their application to university level.

The programme is supported by cultural & historical lectures, museum visits and study trips. This course will help you to fulfil your creative potential in a friendly and supportive environment, whether you want to go into employment or prepare for study at a higher level.

Progression/Career Path

After 1 year at Level 2 you can achieve a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production. This means you can apply for Level 3. Students can also progress to work in TV, film & video, animation, games design, photography, writing for news & fiction, traditional & digital print media, design, digital journalism, etc.
