Homage Paid to Demolished Art Campus
T V's Fred Dinneage helped McCarthy & Stone to pay homage to the recently demolished art college which had stood on their new site for decades. The builder organised an art competition for the students who have relocated to Northbrook's Durrington Campus.
There had been an art college at the Union Place site since 1912 and the art block was used by Northbrook’s Fine Art Degree students until the building was demolished in 2008.
The UK builder organised a challenge in which two Fine Art Degree students have won prizes. Part time Fine Art student, Gill Mirza and Fine Art graduate, Tony Owers, both won £250 and their paintings are currently on show for the residents in the new Amelia Court building in Union Place.
Fred Dinneage presented the winners with their prizes.
