Emily trained as a professional dancer at Elmhurst Ballet School and London Contemporary Dance School. After completing her studies she joined Matthew Bourne's company New Adventures, where she performed in many of their productions including Swan Lake, Cinderella, Car Man and Play Without Words. She was a core member of the company, creating roles and touring with them for 13 years.


After leaving the company she worked as a freelance performer for companies such as English National Opera, Derby Playhouse and Unicorn Theatre.


In more recent years Emily has worked as a movement director and choreographer for both opera and theatre. She teaches contemporary dance and ballet to all age groups on a freelance basis and runs her own creative dance class for very young children.
