Our excellent facilities in the Fashion & Textile Department aim to provide a creative learning environment for our degree students studying on the BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Textile Design & BA (Hons) Fashion Media & Promotion programmes.
The Fashion & Textile degree programmes aim to provide a learning environment that stimulates the development of creative practitioners, designers and fashion communicators equipped with essential skills and knowledge for future careers within the fashion and textile industries.
All three programmes aim to highlight the relationships between creative practice, market placement and the business environment and develop appropriate knowledge and skills to meet industry requirements and operate within the fast moving world of fashion and textiles.

The Fashion & Textile Department degree programmes proudly promote small group sizes, where you will be able to benefit from our student to staff ratio of 15:1 for teaching. Our friendly academic and technical tutors are professional designers and practitioners, teachers and researchers who are passionate about offering you their specialist expertise and wealth of industry and academic experience.
Our excellent facilities and resources will also provide you with the space and essential tools to have fun, experiment and develop a range of specialist practical skills and knowledge.

Student Achievement
Students studying on the degree programmes within the Fashion & Textile Department have also recently exhibited at Graduate Fashion Week exhibition and catwalk show (London), New Designers exhibition (London) and locally at the Arundel Museum. The high standard of student work has also recently led to a number of winners and finalists for several national design bursaries and competitions, including the RSA Bursary, Fashion Awareness Direct, New Look Fashion competition, River Island Recycling competition, Graduate Fashion Week Gala Show, Burberry Mentoring project and Society of Dyers and Colourists prizes.
Careers & Progression
The Fashion & Textile degree programmes aim to prepare the students with a range of professional and transferable skills for employment or further study and future career opportunities within fashion, textile and/or creative industries. Previous students have successfully established creative positions at Vogue, Tatler, Purple PR, Alexander McQueen, Armani Exchange, Boudicca, Whistles, Diesel, Michiko Koshino, Adidas, Puma, Top Man, New Look, Laura Ashley, to name a few.

With our overseas study visits to major fashion and textile trade exhibitions, influential fashion capitals and famous international brands place an important emphasis preparing you for the world of international fashion and textiles for contemporary lifestyles.
The Fashion & Textile Department is ideally located at the West Durrington Campus, Worthing, West Sussex, which has a friendly and relaxed environment in which to study and is only half an hour from the vibrant and cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton and an hour and twenty minutes from the buzz, shopping and night life of London.
