Step 2: Your Application

You can apply online using the link at the top of your course description page on this website ( click here for course description pages).

Alternatively, you can tear out the application form in the back of the printed prospectus.

Or you can print off an application form from this website (there is a link at the top of this page).

You can also get an application form from your school or direct from Northbrook by phoning 0845 155 60 60.

Complete the application form and send it to:

You will receive an acknowledgement or your application by post, which will be followed up with an invitation to attend an interview.

Step 3: Reference

Ask your current or last school to provide a reference using the reference form. The reference form is available to tear out from the back of the printed prospectus. Alternatively, you can print it from this website (see link at top of this page). Please return this to Northbrook's Admissions office.

Step 4: Your Interview

Interviews start in January. We always like to stress that an interview is not a test and does not put you under any obligation to accept a place. Even if you are considering other colleges or staying on at your school, we would still like to see you. We will also send you an interview preparation sheet to help you prepare for the questions you may be asked by the interviewer.

On the day of the interview, you should report to Reception at the correct campus, where you will be met by the course tutor. At the interview we will give you more information about the course and you will have the chance to ask questions about this and also general College activities and facilities. You will also be required to complete an initial assessment. The initial assessment is not a test - it just tells us what level of Functional Skills you may need to undertake (Functional Skills are qualifications in English, Maths and ICT). The assessment is also an indicator of any additional needs you may have.

Step 5: Your Offer of a Place

If we can offer you a place this will be confirmed to you in writing within two weeks of your interview date.

Step 6: Your Choice

It is your choice. You should look at your interview as a visit and opportunity to find out more about Northbrook College and if it is right for you.

Step 7: Accepting Your Place

Send back the acceptance slip in the Freepost envelope provided and we will contact you at the appropriate time with details of your enrolment session.

Step 8: Enrolment and Course Confirmation

We will, at the appropriate time, invite you to an enrolment event and course confirmation session.

The enrolment event is held during week commencing 11th July 2011 and is an opportunity for you to enrol and have your photograph taken for your student ID card. You will also meet your fellow students and participate in some course related activities. You will need to bring ID in the form of a passport, driving licence or birth certificate. Please be prepared to stay for at least 2½ hours at this event.

The course confirmation sessions  are held on Thursday 25th August and Friday 26th August 2011.On the day you will need to provide evidence that relates to the conditions of your offer that were discussed at interview, for example GCSE results, evidence of good attendance and/or successful completion of current learning programme.

If you have not already completed an enrolment form at this stage, you will be asked to do so as well as have your photograph taken for your student ID card.
