Option pathways

Year 1:
Diagnostic period and skills workshops across the range of performance disciplines, followed by a performance unit combining rehearsal of material with workshops exploring techniques and approaches of key twentieth century practitioners. This is followed by a public performance unit, with the option to work either devising from stimuli or on scripted material.
Level one study ends with a skills delivery unit from core tutors and visiting lecturers, and includes tutorials to help guide students specialisation choices for level two study.

Year 2:

Skills workshops and preparation for a performance unit where students will work as part of a company, taking responsibility for the selection, development and performance of work for the public. Followed by Industrial practice unit, working as a company on material for the public at a venue in Brighton – students will work largely independently, guided by a guest director and workplace mentors. The final performance unit gives students responsibility for re-working the material for the Northbrook Theatre, and the opportunity to invite industry professionals, where appropriate.
Level two study is underpinned throughout by a supportive and relevant cultural and supporting studies programme.
