How to Apply for the International Foundation Year

To apply for the IFY, you must first complete an application form and return it to Northbrook with copies of all your most recent educational qualifications that you have received. The tutor will use this information to assess your suitability for the course. You can download an application form here:

Application Form

(or if you prefer to apply online using the link at the top of the course page , you will still need to send copies of your educational qualifications to Northbrook).

Your educational qualifications will be required by the College to assist you with your Tier 4 student visa application.

You will also need evidence on your application of your level of English. You will need to provide evidence of an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examination or equivalent.

How to Pay

If you are offered a place at Northbrook, you will be asked to pay a deposit of £1500 and this must be paid to the College bank account before a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) can be issued to assist in your student visa application. The CAS cannot be issued until either the deposit or the full fee has been paid. This first payment can be made either by Bank Transfer or Bankers Draft.

The remaining balance will be collected in 3 equal instalments commencing at the start of each term. Arrangements for payment by instalments must be made prior to the commencement of your course and be paid by Direct Debit transfer from a UK bank account. If your visa application is refused before the start of the course, a full refund will be made upon production of the original refusal documentation.

However, if you wish to pay the total amount prior to the commencement of the course, you will be entitled to a discount of 5% of the IFY programme.

Northbrook does not offer scholarships. Finding a sponsor to fund your studies is best arranged in your home country. The British Council in your country or your own Ministry of Education Department might have details of scholarship opportunities for students wishing to study abroad. More information regarding funding can be found at www.internationalstudent.com , www.internationalscholarships.com , www.ucas.com , www.iefa.org or www.educationuk.org
