Northbrook Graduate Animates For The Olympics

BC Sport scored gold when celebrated ex-Northbrook student, Jamie Hewlett (the artist behind the virtual band ‘Gorillaz’), agreed to produce the BBC Olympic Games title sequence. The animated clip, produced by Jamie and Damon Albarn, was a twist on the classical Chinese novel ‘Journey to the West’ and featured Monkey, Sandy and Pigsy in a perilous journey to the Olympic stadium.
The two minute clip which was aired on TV, radio, the web and mobile, succeeded in kick starting the Olympic coverage in a really different, energetic way and received plenty of encouraging feedback. Jamie studied Graphic Design at Northbrook and has since become one of the biggest names in animation.
