After studying Stage Management & Technical Theatre at Middlesex Polytechnic, Jo Loader worked as crew for Eastbourne Theatres. She then gained her Equity Card working at Derby Playhouse before moving to Salisbury Playhouse.


Jo progressed to Glyndebourne Opera House working on festivals and tours, before becoming a freelance international stage manager working around the world and specialising in opera festivals including those in Italy, New Zealand and the Netherlands.


She returned to the UK to work at Chichester Festival Theatre as Stage Manager before gaining her teaching qualifications and taking the post of Deputy Stage Management Tutor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.


Jo began working at Northbrook ten years ago, leading the FdA since its conception and supporting students on to the BA and into industry.


Recent Professional Links

Recent professional links include placements with Glyndebourne Festival Opera, the Royal National Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, One from the Heart Productions, Eastbourne Theatres & the Royal Opera House. West End productions include: ‘Sweeney Todd’, ‘Kinky Boots’ and ‘Charlie & the Chocolate Factory’.

Brighton Fringe Festival 2012-2014 - supporting assorted productions and venues.


Recent enrolment to the ‘HE fellowship’ at Brighton University.
