edge of tomo A group of lucky Northbrook College students have landed a work placement on a Hollywood blockbuster starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.


The Prop Making and Special Effects degree students worked on big budget movie ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ which is due to be released on Friday 30 th May. The film tells the story of a soldier fighting in a war with aliens, who finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in battle.


The students worked in the RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) casting room, casting armour pieces for the exo-suits at the world-renowned Leavesden studios in Hertfordshire, which has served as the base for movies such as Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes and Inception.


Northbrook Prop Making and Special Effects student Lucy Hinsley, said, “I feel extremely lucky to have had this opportunity. It has opened many doors for me in my future career.”
