Northbrook College has scooped an award at Graduate Fashion Week for the second year running.
BA Fashion Design student, Dominique Kral, was awarded the Zandra Rhodes Textiles award at the Gala event in London yesterday.
Dominique’s win follows that of fellow student Rhea Fields, who won the Best Womenswear award last year.
Dominique is 23 and from Worthing. She is one of a group of 12 Northbrook students who showed their degree collections on the London catwalk this week.
Northbrook’s Fashion Design Course Leader, Simon Seivewright, said, “I was so pleased for Dominique to have even been nominated and, after Rhea Fields’ win last year, I did not want to count anything certain this year. But when they called her name at the celebrity gala awards show last night it was an amazing feeling to think that we had a winner again”.
Dominique’s collection was a blend of textiles, experimental and sculptural knitwear with digital prints taking inspiration from insects combined with metallic leather leggings and resin corsets.
Every year Graduate Fashion Week showcases the best from over 50 fashion and textiles universities.
