The Guardian newspaper cutting 'Apprenticeships not just for teenagers'

A Northbrook apprentice was chosen to be featured in The Guardian newspaper. Lisa Larouche is a care worker with the Disabilities Trust and completed an apprenticeship with Northbrook College last year.

At age 48, she has just completed a Higher Apprenticeship in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care and is now looking to become a Service Manager. She tells how her apprenticeship set her up for her future career,  “Studying the Apprenticeship at Northbrook College gave me an opportunity to meet and have group discussions with other apprentices working in the sector…These were people who were in slightly different client groups, so it gave me a far wider perspective than I would otherwise have had”.

The Guardian states that Lisa is proof that apprenticeships are not just for teenagers. Lisa is a great ambassador for apprenticeships, adding “I would absolutely recommend the Apprenticeship route. It gives you the opportunity to discuss, learn and get experience with the support of your college, your tutor and your workplace.”
