Counselling skills are highly useful in a range of occupations and professions where interpersonal skills are important. If you are seeking to enhance your functional role (e.g. a social worker, teacher or practising nurse) through the use of counselling skills, this course is for you.
It is also ideal for those who wish to become a professional counsellor. The mandatory units for this course are:
- Understanding different approaches to the use of counselling skills
- Practising counselling skills
- Working ethically in helping relationships
- Understanding the importance of self-development in relation to helping others.
Achievement of a Level 2 Counselling Qualification and the successful out come of attending an interview is necessary to start the Level 3 Course. We may approach your previous course provider for references.

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to:

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.
Application Review Meeting
Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
