Make the most of these extraordinary times and gain a nationally-recognised qualification. A short online course is a significant first step to improving your skills and achieving your career goals.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Have you written a novel or are serious about wanting to? If so, this workshop-based course is aimed at experienced writers of fiction, who want to develop their skills further.
Each writer will bring their own project to work on (be it a novel, or collection of short stories). It can be at an early stage or later stage, as long as you have a specific fiction project you want to work on.
You will have the opportunity to share your work and have it assessed by the tutor and in class discussion.
The major aspects of fiction will be looked at in detail, including: plotting, characterisation, structure, setting / location, dialogue, and more.
Advice will be offered on routes to getting published. The course will also include a one-to-one session with the tutor for each writer.
Weekly assignments will be given out, as an integral part of the course. This is to further your development as writers and your project. To get the most from the course, it is strongly advised that you try and complete these assignments.
Tutor Sue Walker is a novelist published by Penguin. She has over 20 years’; experience as an investigative television journalist and has extensive experience of running courses and workshops as a creative writing tutor.
