Get yourself beach ready this summer with this 5 week sewing course where you will make your own beach kaftan-style cover-up and bag. This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those who have lost their sewing confidence. In the 5 weeks you will learn about sewing patterns, cutting out fabric, threading up a sewing machine and using different stitches and finishes to make your own beach wear.

The course will take you through the basics of machine sewing including (but not limited to) how to thread up, wind a bobbin, change stitches/length, cutting out simple shapes, pin and sew accurate seam allowance, neatening raw edges, hems.

Sewing machines and overlockers are available to use at the college, although you may find it useful to have your own sewing machine to practice sewing techniques at home.
