Painting | Colour Mixing and Techniques

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is for everyone who would like to improve their ability to mix the colours they want to use in their paintings and learn some helpful techniques for composing paintings, whether they are beginners or more experienced painters.
The course will cover a wide range of topics related to the successful mixing of colours including how to lighten and darken colours, how to use complementary colours, how to paint shadows and how to mix skin tones and earth tones. It will also cover composition techniques including focal point, perspective, negative space and backgrounds, and how to use them to the greatest effect.
By the end of the course, you will have a ‘recipe book’; of colour mixes for use with all types of paint. You will have completed a wide variety of exercises on how to use colour and many helpful techniques that you can use in your own paintings. This course will help you to be more confident with using colour and with developing your own style.
