Pottery – Ceramics for the Garden – 1 Saturday/Spring Term

COURSE OVERVIEW

Ideal for anyone who has an interest in creating their very own decorative ceramics for the garden. You will be shown how to make Bird Feeders, Garden Bells/Chimes and Plant Stake Toppers using hand building techniques.

The Tutor will demonstrate a range of hand building techniques such as pinching, extruding and slab work to make a variety of decorative garden ceramics. Students will have the opportunity to make the garden ornaments of their choice and decorate them with coloured slip. Work will be fired and ready for collection at a later date.

Due to the large ceramic/pottery provision offered throughout the college, please note that firing of work is not simultaneous and at some points during the year it can take longer than we would wish. Your tutor will however aim to get your work fired in a reasonable time frame.

Tutor Adrienne Shields. This workshop will run on a Saturday 10:00-1600.
