Printmaking – An Introduction to Printmaking – Summer Term

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is a fun and hands-on introduction to printmaking methods suitable for beginners and those with some experience. You will explore three main printmaking methods, as follows: Mono Printing, explore the technique in direct printing, inking, reduction and addition methods and monotype by using objects. Dry point, development ideas, making a plate, exploring inking methods both intaglio and relief and combine with Chine Colle. Collagraph, exploring making a plate with multi materials, monochrome and colour inking technique, preparing paper and experimenting with printing by hand and using presses.

This course will also provide the opportunity to explore various intaglio and relief inking techniques as well as how to make different plates.

By the end of the course you will be able to produce a series of prints using a range of printmaking methods.
