THE HISTORY OF ART: COLLECTORS AND CRITICS
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is ideal for the beginner or the student with some prior knowledge of Art History.
We shall look at the history of western art from the medieval period to the 21st century, from the perspective of the collectors of art like the Medicis, Monarchs, right up to present collectors like Saatchi. We shall also look at the role of the critic in art history.
By the end of the course you will be able to give a detailed outline of the history of western art from the perspective of those who made it happen.
Tutor: Steve Carroll. This course runs on a Friday afternoon 14:00-16:00
