COURSE OVERVIEW
This course covers a range of theatre arts disciplines, both performance-based and behind-the-scenes in production. You can opt to focus on either performance subjects (acting, dance, singing) or production subjects(lighting, sound, set design). If you are still deciding whether you prefer performance or production, you can opt to mix and match the course units and gain a general qualification. This will allow you to specialise further down the line in your studies. The College offers facilities unrivaled in the region, including a 160-seat professional theatre, high-specification rehearsal and dance studios, and extensive production workshops.

FURTHER INFORMATION
This Level 1 course is for students who have fewer than three GCSEs at grade 2 (F) or above.
After successful completion of this course you can progress to the Level 2 Performing & Production Arts course at Northbrook College.
You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
