Paul Young Level 3 Production Lecturer

Paul is an established producer, engineer, remixer, musician, and DJ with over 30 years of experience in the music industry.

He began his career as an assistant engineer at The Townhouse in London, where he worked alongside and learned from some of the world’s biggest artists and producers, including Prince, Trevor Horn, Adrian Sherwood, Tim Palmer, XTC, Kirsty MacColl, and Alison Moyet.

Throughout his career, Paul has produced, engineered, or remixed a diverse array of artists. His engineering credits include working with innovators such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music), Nina Hagen, and Peter Perrett. He has remixed tracks for ’80s legends like Annie Lennox, Erasure, Soft Cell, and Sheena Easton, and produced cult classic albums and singles for Rosetta Stone and Children On Stun.

Currently, Paul is involved in several projects, including co-production and playing guitar as a member of dark electro band Massive Ego. He also produces and DJs for The Disko Katz alongside DJ Wayne G, and works on production and engineering for commercial pop remixers Shanghai Surprize, whose credits include Christina Aguilera, Steps, Melanie C, and Geri Halliwell.

As a DJ, Paul has held residencies at renowned clubs such as Heaven in London and Garage in Lisbon. He has performed at high-profile venues across the globe, including Ministry Of Sound in London, Follies Pigalle in Paris, and Fallen Angel in Cusco, Peru. His extensive experience and versatility across multiple facets of the music industry have made him a respected and influential figure.
