Questions about the start of teaching / timetables
- On 1 August we email students telling them the date, time and venue of their first lesson in early September. You will be given your timetable on your first day in September.
- 16-18 years old students on full-time courses will normally be given their timetable on their Induction Day in the first week of September.
- Please don’t contact the college before this week to ask for your timetable because individual timetables will not yet be finalised.
- Adults on part-time courses will normally be emailed their timetable in the week before their first lesson.
- We will email students on 1 August with the date, time and venue of your first day at college. This information will also be published on your Application Tracker page.
- This Starting Information email will also inform you if you need to attend an enrolment appointment at college the week before the start of teaching.
- 16-18 year old students who are new to college will normally be asked to attend an enrolment appointment in the last week of August. Their first day of teaching (Induction Day) will normally be in the first week of September.

Questions about your application and courses
- Don’t worry – many students decide they want to change courses.
- You should start by researching the new course carefully by looking at the course information pages on our website.
- If you are sure you want to change, just go to our website, choose your course and complete a new application.
- It may be difficult for us to agree course changes over the summer holiday because teaching staff are not always available. We may invite you to attend our YES event at the start of the Autumn Term, to discuss your application. See our website for more information about YES events.
- If you want to study a similar course to the one you have already been offered, it is best for you to attend your enrolment appointment at the start of term. Teachers will be available to help you consider your options and can agree course changes then.
- We are still taking applications and will do our best to find spaces for late applicants who meet our entry requirements.
- If you have not applied already, just go to our website, choose your course and complete a new application.
- It may be difficult for us to interview you over the summer holiday because teaching staff are not always available. We may invite you to book an appointment at one of our YES events in late August / early September. At YES day you will be interviewed by a course leader who will discuss with you the courses that still have spaces.
- If you have an enrolment appointment, it is important that you still come to that appointment, where we can discuss your options with you. We have a wide range of courses and may be able to offer you a place on another course.
- If you don’t have an enrolment appointment, you can book a place at one of our YES Days, through the college website. At YES Day, you will be interviewed by a teacher who will advise which courses are available for you to study.
- Please do not email Admissions because course changes will need to be discussed with a teacher on their return after the summer break in the last week of August.
- If you are aged 16-18, there will be a Maths and English desk to speak to when you come in to enrol at the start of the Autumn term. They will be able to answer all your questions.
- Students who are 16-18 are normally required to study Maths and English at college if they haven’t yet achieved GCSE grade 4.
- Your Maths and English class will be at a time that fits alongside your main course.
- If you are an adult, any information about the course content and start dates of our adult Maths and English courses is provided on our website.

Questions about Application Tracker and the Pre-enrolment form
- We send pre-enrolment emails to all students starting new courses in September. These emails are sent out during June.
- If you are continuing with two-year courses such as T Levels and A Levels, you do not need to pre-enrol and will not receive the email.
- If you cannot find our email asking you to pre-enrol, please check your spam and junk folders first. Please also try searching for an email called ‘Pre-enrol now’.
- If your pre-enrolment email has not arrived by the 1 July, please email the following address, stating your name, date of birth, student number and the difficulty you are having.

- If you were at the college last year or if you are aged 19 or older, you are unlikely to be asked to attend an enrolment appointment. You will be asked to complete the enrolment process online.

Questions about costs – course fees, loans sponsorship, online store
- Any fees for your course will be confirmed when you complete your pre-enrolment form. We email this form out to applicants in June and send regular reminders.
- The course fees will vary according to the nature of the course and your personal circumstances.
- The pre-enrolment form will explain the payment options for your course.
- Your enrolment on the course is not secured until your course fees have been paid or a loan confirmed.
- In June we send pre-enrolment emails to all students starting college in September. To find this email, search your inbox for an email from us called ‘Pre-enrol now’.
- If you are eligible for the Advanced Learner Loan, your pre-enrolment email will provide a link to the government website and all of the instructions you will need to apply.
- If your pre-enrolment email does not include information about the Advanced Learner Loan, this means that you or your course is not eligible for the loan.
- Note: We advise all applicants to complete the pre-enrolment form first to find out whether you need to apply for a loan. Many students qualify for funding without a loan because of their personal circumstances or educational background.
- You are advised to apply for the loan as early as possible to ensure that is in place by the start of your course. When we have received confirmation from the government portal that your loan is approved, we will complete your enrolment.
- If you have a sponsor who will be paying your course fees, you will be asked to provide your sponsor’s details when you complete your pre-enrolment form.
- We will email you a Sponsorship form and ask you to forward it to your sponsor. They should complete the form and return it to our enrolment team. Your sponsor will then be invoiced for the course fees.
- When we have received the signed sponsorship form, we will complete your enrolment.

- From the Product Catalogue, select your college and then click on the item you want to purchase.
- Add the item to your basket. Then click on your ‘Shopping Basket’ and then ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
- If you have not used the store before you will need to register. This involves creating a password, and adding your personal and address details.
- Your Student Number / ID is your unique college number. This is included in the admissions and enrolment emails we have sent to you. You can also find it by logging in to Application Tracker here: CCG Application Tracker.
- Remember to tick the ‘I am human’ box.
- You will then be asked to complete the purchase as normal, using your payment details.
- Yes, if you receive the Learning Support Grant, this can contribute to the cost of any compulsory purchases you have been asked to make from the Online Store.
- The Learning Support Grant may not cover the cost of the whole item, depending upon how expensive it is. You can discuss this with staff at your enrolment appointment.
