AWARENESS EVENTS

Throughout the year, the college organises pop-up awareness stands and events on the Northbrook campuses and we encourage all students to get involved. Whether it’s Be Healthy Stay Safe Month, Mental Health Awareness Week, World Aids Day or Fairtrade Fortnight, there will be lots of information and free giveaways to get students inspired and engaged with the world around them.

Student Union

Your time at college should be memorable for all the right reasons.

Our role across the group is to help you get the best possible experience both inside and outside of the classroom. Pastoral Support Tutors

Our Pastoral Support Tutors are here to support you throughout your time at college, and will play a key role in your study programme.

Every student, aged 16-19, has a Pastoral Support Tutor and you will meet with them regularly. Through personal one-to-one discussions, tutors can monitor your progress, track your achievements, support attendance and set targets which will ensure you achieve your goals.

We know there are many factors that can affect you during your time at college. Our Pastoral Support Tutors will work with you and help you through the challenges which may impact on your journey. They will offer intensive support to students who are identified as being ‘at risk’ of not achieving their qualification. This is tailored support, which seeks to remove barriers you may face with the aim to help you get back on track to completing your course successfully.

If you are aged 19 or over, you will be offered support and access to Pastoral Support Tutoring.

Personal Development Programme

Our Personal Development Programme has been designed to help build your skills, attitudes and behaviours to support you within and College and throughout your future life. These sessions are tailored to your specific level of learning as well as the skills and risks in the local community.

Each session will be delivered by your Pastoral Support Tutor through a series of interactive workshops, they will guide you through your College journey as well as inspire and inform your future. The programme will cover a range of topics including social media, how to stay safe, respect and tolerance and creating a positive community.

These sessions will be supported and followed up with one to one conversations with your Pastoral Support Tutor and topics within your curriculum area.
