COURSE OVERVIEW
This painting course is devoted to the landscape, both urban and natural, whilst also referencing and discussing the work of artists, past and present. Using either acrylic or oil, and mixed media, you will develop a personal response to the subject.
We will explore composition, texture and colour theories, and examine both representational and abstract approaches to the landscape.
By the end of the course you will have gained a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience that demonstrate you can plan an image more effectively; produce at least 5 pieces of work, including samples and finished artwork, and assess your progress at an introductory or intermediate level.
This course runs on a Friday 1230-1430
Tutor – Jason Powers: Teaching across the adult sector for over twenty years, covering a diverse range of creative interests (portraiture, life classes, drawing, painting, and mixed media) various learner skills and experiences, Jason shares his extensive knowledge and practice through a structured, relaxed and flexible approach to learning. Having studied at Chelsea, Falmouth and Chichester university, Jason continues to exhibit county wide and nationally, and often at the annual Discerning Eye exhibitions, London.
