About this Course

Come and try your hand at making a willow and tissue lantern A relaxed and friendly day, suitable for everyone from the complete beginner, or those with experience.

 

Course Content

Make a withie and tissue lantern, with the opportunity to make another piece of withie sculpture to your own design in the afternoon.

What you will achieve

By the end of the day you will have made a withie lantern and possibly another to your own design. These will be wet and gluey, but can be taken home after the course.

Try your hand at the many other creative day courses provided by Northbrook.

Other Costs

All materials are provided but your own pair of secateurs are useful but not essential. Bin liner to carry home your wet and gluey creation.We recommend that you bring a packed lunch and hot/cold drinks.

The Tutor

Tamar has now been teaching at Northbrook for 5 years. Since graduating from her B.A Hon's degree in ceramics, Tamar has been working as an artist in residence in a number of local schools making willow and tissue sculptures, living willow structures, and has been involved in community projects making willow and tissue sculptures for parades.

She also teaches adults ceramics and works from her home studio making limited edition decorative ceramics, exhibiting in a range of venues.
