About this Course

For students of all abilities. As the summer break stretches on, this course is designed for writers to bring along their Work in Progress and share it with other students for either general encouragement, or specific advice.

Course Content

This one day course will cover what you need - bring along your work and read an extract to the class. Along with feedback and encouragement, there will be technical advice. In addition, there will be a number of writing exercises designed to stimulate your creativity.

What you will achieve

By the end of the course you will be able to see how to progress with your particular writing project. In addition, you will have completed a number of exercises you will be able to use or expand in future work.

Progression/Career Path

You could enrol on a Creative Writing course at Northbrook. Many students have attended these courses, finding the advice and encouragement helpful to their writing. A number of students have also had their work published in magazines and been placed in writing competitions.

What you need to bring

Please bring along a packed lunch, as well as writing materials and copies of your own work. There are no other costs involved in this course.

The Tutor

A qualified teacher, Sarah Higbee has recently signed a publishing contract for a novel and also had articles, flash fiction, poetry and short stories published. She has been running a series of successful courses at Northbrook for the past 8 years.
