This term we will examine how contemporary writers and poets tackle issues such as viewpoint, scene setting and dialogue and students will have an opportunity to share their favourite authors and explain how they have inspired them.
What you will achieve
By the end of the course you will be able to understand how professional writers from a range of genres deal with some of the major technical issues in modern writing.
Many students have attended this course for a number of years, finding the ongoing advice and encouragement helpful to their writing. A number of students have also had their work published in magazines and been placed in writing competitions.
What you need to bring
Please bring along writing materials and copies of your own work. There are no other costs involved in this course.
A qualified teacher, Sarah Higbee has recently signed a publishing contract for a novel and also had articles, flash fiction, poetry and short stories published. She has been running a series of successful courses at Northbrook for the past 8 years.
