Entry Requirements

To start on this Level 3 course you need:


Either
Four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, preferably including English and Maths
or
a relevant Level 2 qualification, including English and Maths requirements.

You will also need an appropriate reference.


If you do not have the above qualifications, you may be able to start on the Level 2 course instead, before applying to move on to this Level 3 course.

Course Content

The course will enable learners to prepare to make a recruitment application or provide a basis for further study and progression towards the entry requirements of a specific Uniformed Service.


At all Levels the units have been developed to gain a vocationally specific qualification to enter employment in the Uniformed Services. The units have been developed to provide opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills, techniques and personal qualities.


Level 3 units include:

  • Develop aspects of physical fitness
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Understand conflict management and personal protection
  • Crime scene investigation
  • Outdoor and adventurous expeditions

Progression/Career Path

After one year at Level 3, you can achieve NCFE Level 3 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services. This qualification prepares you for entry to the uniformed services, apprenticeships, further/higher education or you can progress to the Extended Diploma course (second year of Level 3).


After 2 years at Level 3, you can achieve an NCFE Extended Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services. This qualification prepares you for entry to the uniformed services, apprenticeships or further/ higher education.


This qualification attracts the following UCAS Points:

Distinction*: 168

Distinction: 144

Merit: 96

Pass: 48
