What Past Students Say

Sam: “Light, relaxing and calm learning environment”.

Charlotte Dixon:
When I finished high school I was unsure of whether to go down the A Level or the CACHE diploma route. I am so glad I chose the CACHE diploma as I gained valuable experience/exposure within a range of childcare environments that developed my knowledge of how children grow and learn. In addition, it brought an awareness of different childcare and teaching practices.

Working in various environments also developed my ability to adapt and respond to different types of people. This is a key skill to have in teaching in order to effectively communicate with children, colleagues, parents and outside agencies.

I believe my CACHE diploma prepared me tremendously for the transition from college to university and as a result I was more confident in starting the BAPET Primary Teaching degree.

Now three years later I am just finishing my degree and am thrilled to say that I have been offered my first teaching post at a local school.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two years CACHE course and would highly recommend this route for anyone considering a career in primary school teaching.

Julie Cockerill:
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks, to you and the rest of the Early Years team at Northbrook College. As a previous Early Years student at Northbrook college during 2008 – 2011, I can remember receiving great support and an outstanding education from the tutors within the Early Years department. I had returned to education after many years of being a mum and as well as holding down a part time job that I was not passionate about.

When I started at Northbrook College I was in a class of much younger students than myself but I was made to feel valued, welcomed and included by both staff and students and age was never an issue. Many of my class mates I am still in contact with today.

Though my confidence was low at first I was shown from the start true professional kindness and dedication from all the Early Years staff. This helped me thrive forward within my professional development within Childcare. This was achieved due to the way staff planned interesting and interacting lessons, individual reviews, communicated with students well and organized wonderful placements.

In 2011 I qualified as a Level 3 Child Care Practitioner and started a full time job in a day nursery that had been my placement during college. I had finally got the job of my dreams. In 2012 I was promoted to room leader and I am now so passionate about what I do as every day something else puts a smile on my face. I will always highly recommend Northbrook College Early Years course as they are outstanding as I have personally experienced them first hand.
