We look at each application individually, considering your grades, interview (along with your portfolio/audition) and any relevant experience. We typically expect students to have achieved 48 UCAS points or PPP in a Level 3 Diploma / Extended Diploma. Mature students who don’t meet these standard entry requirements may be able to show us their potential through relevant experience. Applicants whose first language is not English and who do not have GCSE English will be asked to take an IELTS assessment or equivalent and will need to achieve an overall score of 6.0, with 6.0 in the writing element and at least 5.5 in all other sub elements.

Emerging designers who want flexible part time study and who enjoy material exploration and want to apply textiles across sectors from Fashion and Interiors to Art. If you value sustainability, traditional and digital techniques, collaboration and professional standards then this is the course for you. You will be supported to craft and develop a signature aesthetic and a portfolio tailored to chosen markets.
Collaboration is a key aspect of the programme, with opportunities to engage with peers across creative disciplines. Cross-level learning is encouraged through peer mentoring, critique sessions, and shared studio environments, fostering a dynamic and critically engaged student community. Graduates of this course will be adaptable, technically proficient, and critically aware, prepared for careers in a broad range of textile sectors, wider creative industries or further academic study.
You will also develop a CV and research textile work related opportunities within your chosen sector. There is a work placement period with support to find an offsite placement and / or work with a live industry brief set by an external industry link. At level 6 you will create a final project targeting your chosen market context of art, fashion or interior textiles, exploring a range of professional presentation and promotional tools to showcase their work and abilities including ongoing self-reflective review, identification of areas of focus for progression and exit portfolio.

Students who complete the full programme will be awarded a BA (Hons). However, students who choose to leave the course before completion may be eligible for an interim award that formally recognises the credits they have successfully achieved.
Level 6 (Year 3) Students who successfully complete 360 credits, will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (BA Hons).
