Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship

COURSE OVERVIEW

Join our Site Carpentry Apprenticeship (Level 2) -; a dynamic 18-24-month programme designed to equip you with the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to excel on construction sites. It is essential that you have an employer to undertake the Apprenticeship pathway.
You’;ll learn to assess site hazards, correctly use PPE, RPE, and local exhaust ventilation, and follow protocols for working at height, manual handling, COSHH, fire safety, and emergency response. Master the preparation, maintenance, safe storage, and expert use of hand tools—chisels, hammers, planes, saws—as well as portable power tools like circular saws, drills, routers, sanders, planers, and nail guns.
Learn to accurately measure, mark out, cut, splice, level, and fit structural timber components. You’;ll erect frames, stud partitions, floor decking, and straight stairs—practice essential site carpentry principles. Develop precision in installing service encasements, cladding, wall and floor units, side-hung doors, ironmongery, and timber mouldings, honing skills for the final finishes. Build and install inclined and trussed rafter roofs, gables, verges, eaves, floor joists, and staircase flights—gaining essential experience in structural and finish carpentry. Learn how to diagnose and repair or replace timber doors, windows, mouldings, guttering, downpipes, and sash cords—ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
On completion you’ll be ready to kick start your career in Carpentry.

You must be working in the industry as a carpenter or joiner to enable the assessment in the workplace.
