COURSE OVERVIEW
Acrylic paint is so versatile, allowing a variety of exciting techniques to be explored. This course is for those using acrylics and those who would like to try them for the first time. Techniques fully explained and demonstrated.
Basic techniques, paint mediums, brushes etc., how to start a painting, colour mixing, what to paint on, interpretting the world around you. Whatever your level the tasks will be attainable, inspiring and will challenge your skills.
By the ene of the course you will be able to show that you have practised and used acrylic paint at an introductory or intermediate level, made decisions on composition and colour, produced at least 3 finished pieces of artwork, assessed your progress on the course
Please bring any acrylic paints you have, piece of thick paper (for acrylics or watercoours), palette (plastic food containers or old plate), empty jam jar and one or two brushes to first session. Materials list given in week 1 – if advice needed before buying additional paints/media

By the end of the course you will be able to explain why the art of the 20th Century looks so different to what went before. After completion of this course you may wish to study another adult leisure or short course or gain a professional qualification.

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.
Application Review Meeting
Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.
What next?
Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
