Pottery | Handbuilding for Beginners and Improvers – Autumn Term

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course covers the fundamentals of building with clay. Students can use these techniques to make delightful objects, from pots and vases and all that’;s in between.
Students will be encouraged to experiment, making pots, ornaments, sculptures, etc. from their own ideas and designs, and will be guided and supported individually to use clay and glazes with confidence.
Students who are already confident in handbuilding are welcome to come along and work with their own projects.
Due to the large ceramic/pottery provision offered throughout the college, please note that firing of work is not simultaneous and at some points during the year it can take longer than we would wish. Your tutor will however aim to get your work fired in a reasonable timeframe.

Tutor: Brynley Brooke. This course will run on a Wednesday evening 1830-2100
