Northbrook College student business thrives after hometown success
A Northbrook College student is launching a music event to Canterbury after a host of successful runs in his hometown.
Marco Marra, who is studying a Level 4 Professional Diploma in events management, has organised club sets in Brighton, Worthing, and Crawley, which often featured performances from Northbrook College music students and DJ’s.
Marco has host many events at the Latest Music Bar in Brighton and now plans to expand to Canterbury after connecting with friends in the city following his first success in December 2021.
He said: “I don’t know where I’d be without this course. The teachers have been supportive and have taught me a lot about being independent, while building my confidence and achieving my goals.
“At this college, I’ve done things I only ever thought were possible in my dreams.”
During one event, Marco created a fundraiser with organisation, Canterbury Vibes, where he booked DJ’s, arranged the venue, and oversaw the marketing campaign. Since, he has organised two further projects in the city that has seen a growth in audience.
The most recent project saw a full capacity video stream and 360-degree DJ setup which was the launch of his company ‘Uni-verse Media’, a digital marketing company built to bridge the gap between students and industry professionals.
