Northbrook College motorsport team celebrate fourth win of the season
The Northbrook College motorsport team are gearing up for their next race meet, with a clutch of wins including their  fourth win of the season in the Student Motorsport Challenge at Oulton Park last month.
Northbrook racing driver, Richard Jepp drove the #65 Team Northbrook Racing Peugeot 107 to its first ever overall victory for the BRSCC’s Nankang City Car Challenge Cup on Saturday 25 May, beating a field of 37 other cars.
In the second race of the meeting, Richard finished first in the Student Motorsport Challenge and second overall. It means Team Northbrook Racing (TNR) lead the Student Motorsport Championship with an impressive 99 points, 22 more than their closest rivals, QE Motorsport.
Emma Norton, TNR’s Team Principal and Motorsport Course Leader, said: “In the world of racing, nothing is a certainty and we are grateful for each and every successful weekend.
“Our wins at Oulton Park are particularly important as our first visit two years ago resulted in us having to undertake a complete rebuild of the car. We have learnt an awful lot and we’ve come a long way since then.
“Our students love taking part in the Nankang City Car Cup. It gives them all an amazing opportunity to experience racing and being part of a team. We are very proud of our students and their professional attitudes. Their commitment and teamwork is admirable. I am also grateful to all the staff who give their own time to enable us to participate in the Championship”.
Richard added: “A great weekend for myself in the overall driver’s championship, only two points behind 1st by my calculations. Great results for the team in the Student Challenge, too.”
The team will be back in action this weekend, with the next round taking place at Donington Park on Sunday 23 June.
