Rising Stars Rock the Factory Live: Northbrook College Musicians Take Centre Stage in Worthing

13 October 2026

Music talent from across Northbrook College recently came together for an evening of soaring vocals and electrifying guitars at the Factory Live in Worthing.

The event was designed to showcase the breadth of emerging musicians from the college, giving audiences a taste of the next generation of talent coming through Worthing’s music scene.

One of the standout bands from the evening was ‘Desdemona’, fronted by two sisters and featuring three students from the BA Music Performer & Practitioner course at the college.

The Worthing area has a long history of producing successful artists, with names including Billy Idol, Keith Emerson and Royal Blood among those connected to the town.

Mike Pailthorpe, lecturer in Music at Northbrook College, said:
“The Factory Local was a fantastic opportunity for our students to perform on a professional stage and share their music with a live audience.

“The standard of performances throughout the evening was exceptional, and it was wonderful to see so many talented young musicians supporting one another and gaining valuable real-world experience.

“Events like this play a vital role in helping emerging artists build confidence, develop their stagecraft and take the next step in their musical journey.

“Audience numbers have been growing consistently over over these regular nights at Factory Live, with this September date being the busiest night of them all so far!”

There are upcoming gigs due; the next of these gigs will be held on Wednesday 11 November.
