Northbrook College students raise over £300 for local good cause

26 March 2024

Northbrook College students recently completed a Youth Action Programme, raising over £300 for autism and fundraising as part of a social action project.

Organised by Sussex-based charity, Concordia, two groups of uniformed services students from Northbrook’s Broadwater campus took part in the programme to raise funds to support veterans and those living with autism.

Students in group one chose to raise money for their social action project, holding a bake sale and raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

They raised £115 for student resources for the college’s Gateway provision to support those with additional needs and autism.

Meanwhile, on the streets on Worthing, group two were out in uniform and fancy dress and raised a total of £262 for the Care for Veterans centre, a charity that provides nursing care and rehabilitation to physically disabled ex-forces personnel.

The Youth Action Programme is also designed to support young people in Sussex with education and employment by developing independence and life skills through combining fun activities with skills sessions and social action.
