Following the success of last year’s MET Motorsport racing in the inaugural Student Motorsport Challenge, the students from our degree-level Motorsport Engineering courses are rising to the challenge again!
This year the team are reverting back to their name as Team Northbrook Racing (TNR) to defend their title and strive to make headway in the full national competition.
This season, the team is proudly representing four sponsors: Harwin Group, GF Machining Solutions, Vega Graphics UK, and SMG NDT Ltd.
Over the Easter weekend, TNR participated in their first race of the season at the Student Motorsport City Car Cup Challenge at Snetterton Circuit. Following a fantastic third place finish in the qualifiers, TNR was well-positioned for the first race. TNR finished first in all three races out of 26 entries, taking P5 in the overall grid.
Richard Jepp (Team Driver) had this to say about the event: “Our pace in practice was really strong, so confidence was high moving into qualifying on Saturday. An absolutely amazing start to the season for us. The college team will be working hard between now and our next race at Croft in a few weeks.”
