This course is designed for individuals who do not meet the entry criteria for a level 1 Diploma in light vehicle maintenance and repair, ESOL learners, home schooled or those who require in-depth learning support, this is a progression route into the level 1 Diploma upon successful completion
- Fundamentals of Health and Safety
- Chassis systems including wheels, tyres, brakes, steering and suspension
- Engine technology, including fuel and ignition systems
- Cooling and lubrication systems
- Materials and general workshop practices including familiarisation with hand tools and specialist equipment
Upon successful completion of the course, and if you have satisfactory attendance, and have show a good commitment to learning you will progress onto the level 1 Diploma in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
Lesson will be split between theory and practical, assessments are through practical observations, portfolio completion and written answers to topic specific questions.
Students will be required to purchase their own safety boots and full length red overalls
