You must have an employer in place and be in a suitable administration role that covers the themes in the course information tab to complete this apprenticeship.All prospective new apprentices will complete an initial assessment of their current knowledge skills and behaviours through a skill scan. This must indicate that there is substantial new knowledge skills and behaviours to be learnt by completing this apprenticeship.A prospective apprentice will also need to show that they are currently working at or towards the minimum L2 skills for Maths and English. Where a learner has not already achieved GCSE grade 4 to 9 (A-C ) or equivalent Level2 English and Maths Functional Skills, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.

This course is designed for students progressing from a level 2 motor vehicle qualification, or directly from school if a grade 4 in maths and English have been achieved.
- Health and Safety and safe workshop practices
- Level 2 EV and FGAS qualifications
- Chassis systems including diagnostics on brakes, steering and suspension systems
- Transmission diagnostic procedures
- Engine diagnostics, including cooling, lubrication, and mechanical
- Ignition, air induction, fuel and emissions system diagnostics
- Electrical system diagnosis
Students will be fully competent diagnostic technicians, and will have the pre requisite qualification to undergo further training e.g. MOT Tester, dealer led training.
