Dream start for Team Northbrook Racing with double win at season opener

29 April 2026

Motorsport Engineering students at Northbrook College played their part as Team Northbrook Racing (TNR) made a dream start to the 2026 BRSCC Nankang Tyre CityCar Cup Championship.

Our talented TNR team stood under their pit marquee

The first round, held at Brands Hatch, saw the TNR team claim two wins and two podiums across the race weekend.

Dr Emma Norton, Team Northbrook Racing’s Team Principal and Motorsport Course Leader, said it was an “outstanding way to start the season and a real credit to the hard work  of  the  entire team.”

Richard Jepp, TNR’s long-standing driver, finished first at the opening race of the weekend, finishing just under a third of a second ahead of second.

He then went on to repeat this feat at the second race of the weekend, taking the chequered flag yet again.

TNR debutant, Jack Wheeler, claimed third place in the first race and followed up with a fifth place in the second race to complete a strong start.

This leaves Richard Jepp first in the championship standings on 40 points, with teammate Jack Wheeler in third on 32 points.

Dr Emma Norton added: “Richard delivered two exceptional performances, showing his experience and race craft, while Jack impressed everyone with a mature and confident debut weekend.

“To leave the opening round with two wins, multiple podiums and strong championship positions is a fantastic achievement for Team Northbrook Racing and our motorsport programme.”
